Pregnancy & Medical Fee-related Aid

● Infants

Target Person(s)
Pre-school age infants
Provision Details
Of the applicable general medical expenses, the sum excluding coverage under National Health Insurance (kokumin kenko hoken) and social insurance (shakai hoken) laws.
 

**Furthermore, in the event you are seen by a doctor outside of Shiga prefecture, the corresponding aid amount shall be provided pending you bring your receipt and submit the application.

● Elementary & Junior High School Students

Target Person(s)
Elementary/Junior High School-age children & adolescents
Provision Details
Of the applicable general medical expenses from hospitalization, the sum excluding coverage under National Health Insurance (kokumin kenko hoken) and social insurance (shakai hoken) laws.
 

**Because no payment vouchers are distributed, the corresponding aid amount shall be provided pending you bring your receipt and apply. 

● Fatherless Families

Target Person(s)
Fatherless families (i.e. mother & child, with the mother supporting children up to the age of 18); restrictions based on income.
Provision Details
Of the applicable general medical expenses, the sum excluding coverage under National Health Insurance (kokumin kenko hoken) and social insurance (shakai hoken) laws. 
 

● Motherless Families

 
Target Person(s)
Motherless families (i.e. father & child, with the father supporting children up to the age of 18); restrictions based on income.
Provision Details
Of the applicable general medical expenses, the sum excluding coverage under National Health Insurance (kokumin kenko hoken) and social insurance (shakai hoken) laws. 
 
 

● Childbirth & Childcare Lump-sum Grant

Target Person(s)
The head of households with women at least 4 months pregnant under National Health Insurance where the lump-sum allowance is expected (However, the head of household must have no outstanding National Health Insurance payments)
 
Provision Details
In order to reduce the temporary economic burden, the costs associated with childbirth shall be paid directly to the medical institution, rather than the person in question, in the form of the childbirth & childcare lump-sum grant.
 

● Childbirth Expense Loan

Target Person(s)
The head of households of pregnant women covered under National Health Insurance (However, the head of household must have no outstanding National Health Insurance payments)
 
Provision Details
Sum 8/10 of the projected amount paid for the Childbirth & Childcare Lump-sum Grant. No-interest. Repayment of the loan occurs in one fixed payment.
